The good news, again from the CDC, is that quitting by age 30 eliminates nearly all risks associated with smoking. And those who quit by age 50 cut in half their risk of dying in the next 15
years.
After your last cigarette it takes the nicotine three days to leave your body completely. People who try to ‘cut back’ and gradually stop completely are stymied by the effects of that withdrawal.
